14 DAY TRIAL // Google is expected to announce three Pixel smartphones this year and information about the upcoming devices continues to surface. YouTube channel ConceptCreator recently posted a video revealing what the Pixel 2 might look like.
The video imagines the Pixel 2 with a sleek design and a dual-camera setup on the back. The concept is actually accompanied by a set of specs that we could expect from the new phone, while recent rumors point towards Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 platform and waterproof protection for Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 device.
It’s worth mentioning that the rendered design isn’t based on leaks, but rather on the previous Pixel smartphones that were released last year and perhaps on industry trends. Last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL phones had some of the best rear cameras on the market, but there haven’t been any reports on a dual-camera setup on this year’s iterations.
4GB of RAM and Android O out of the box
That being said, a vertical dual-lens setup would surely make the phone more appealing to consumers, seeing how many of this year’s flagships will feature two lenses on the back. The front of the Pixel 2 concept shows a design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and LG G6, with tiny bezels and a large screen.
The video imagines the Pixel 2 made entirely out of glass and having two 12MP sensors on the back, together with a 5.6-inch display. It also shows dual speakers in the front, and mentions 128GB of internal memory and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Together with the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Google is also expected to announce a third Pixel device, codenamed Taimen. The device recently surfaced in benchmarks with 4GB of RAM and Android O, while also featuring an octa-core CPU, clocked at the speed of 1.9GHz. Google will announce the new smartphones later this year, and more information is bound to surface soon.
