Pixel, Pixel XL, Daydream VR, Andromeda OS, and more

In just a few minutes, Google will start its highly anticipated event during which it will unveil two new smartphones, developed in partnership with HTC. The event won’t be focusing solely on that, though, as the tech giant is also expected to announce several other devices.

The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are said to come with top-of-the-line hardware and the latest version of Google’s Android OS. The devices have been leaking in numerous pictures lately, and the spec sheet is expected to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 128GB of internal memory.

Rumors say that cameras on the upcoming phones are updated and have 12MP capacity on the back and 5MP in the front. Both phones will be running Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with the Pixel Launcher on top. Additionally, battery capacity might reach 3,450mAh on the Pixel XL and 2,770mAh on the Pixel.

Other than that, we’re anxious to see what Google Magic means, although we suspect it could be referring to Google Assistant.

Past reports have shown that Huawei is working on an upcoming Google-branded tablet with a 7-inch display, perhaps it might be called the Pixel 7.

Google might announce Daydream VR headset, Chromecast Plus, and Google Wi-Fi

Google is also expected to unveil the Daydream VR headset today, which is said to come with a white remote and a price tag of about $79.

We’ve also heard some details about Andromeda OS, a merger between Android and Chrome OS Google is said to be working on. More information might be disclosed during today’s event.

Chromecast Plus is expected to be announced and might carry a $70 price tag. In addition, Google Home will be unveiled, as Google’s talkative digital assistant announced during May’s Google I/O event.

The tech giant might also unveil Google Wi-Fi, a router that would help users connect several units and improve coverage around the house.

We’ll be covering the event with a live blog, while announcements will be detailed in dedicated articles today. The Google event stream is available here.
