Google announced on the company's blog that users can review and remove their Google search activity starting today, using a newly added instruments panel built into Google Search and designed to make it easier to stay in control of your data.

You can now easily take a gander at what search activity data Google has collected while you were googling around the web using Google Search by going to the "Your data in Search" page while logged into your Google account.

The Google Search activity review and managing toolkit can also be accessed from Google's homepage by clicking on the Setting button in the bottom right corner of the page and then clicking the "Your data in Search" option.

Using the controls on the Your data in Search page you can browse and delete the search activity Google has logged while you were using Google Search when logged into your account.

To delete your activity data, "like the terms you've searched for and the links you've interacted with," you can click the "Delete last hour" button for removing just the last hour or the "Delete all Search activity" option to remove everything in one go.

The new search activity data controls also provide you with Google-wide controls and Ad personalization

Google's Your data in Search page also provides you with Google-wide controls seeing that the Search activity is also saved in your Google Account.

Using the Google-wide Activity controls, you will be able to decide what data will be collected by Google saved and used across all Google services to provide you with personalized info and experiences.

"We’re also providing quick access to the privacy controls in your Google Account that are most relevant as you use Search," said Eric Miraglia, Director of Product Management, Privacy and Data Protection Office. "For example, to control the ads you see when you search, we give you access to your Ad Settings."

The Search activity managements controls are available on the mobile and desktop versions of Google Search starting today, and they will also be added to the iOS and Android Google apps during the following weeks.
