Google is known to work on two upcoming smartphones, previously thought to be under the Nexus brand. The handsets will be manufactured by HTC, and they will be featuring the Pixel and Pixel XL branding. New information shows that Google is preparing one more device, namely, a successor to the Nexus 7 tablet.

The information has been revealed by leakster Evan Blass, who has mentioned that Google is working with Huawei on developing a new tablet, which could very much be the successor to Nexus 7, released quite a while ago, in 2013.

The tweet doesn’t actually mention Nexus or any other moniker, and the tablet could very well bear the Pixel branding, considering that recent rumors have stated that Google changed its mind and decided to name the two upcoming smartphones Pixel and Pixel XL. The leak could very well be true, considering Evan Blass’ track record.

The upcoming Google tablet could come with 4GB of RAM

The report also suggests that the tablet could come with 4GB of RAM, which is the same RAM capacity found in many flagships released on the market in the past year. The upcoming Pixel and Pixel XL are also said to come with 4GB of RAM.

Another piece of information that the tweet mentions is that the upcoming Google tablet could actually come before the end of the year, and the Mountain View-based giant will most likely launch the two Pixel phones first and then release the upcoming 7-inch tablet, or it could very well unveil the three devices during the same event.

There aren’t any other details on the tablet, although earlier this year, Huawei took a trademark for the Huawei 7P, but not much has surfaced since then.

Google is expected to hold an event on October 4, during which it will announce the two Pixel phones, a Daydream VR headset, and maybe the new Google tablet, which will surely come with more powerful specs compared to its predecessor.
