Google has been working on several changes to its proprietary mapping application on iOS, and it seems that the new update to Maps brings a much-needed feature to users. Apparently, Google Maps will come with food delivery service integration.

The new update to Google Maps version 4.24 on iOS brings several new features to users, but one stands out from the rest. The integration of food delivery services will allow users to quickly order food from their favorite restaurants or add pictures of places directly within the app.

The availability of the food delivery service inside Google Maps differs depending on the city and country, but the new option seems to be available in most major cities.

The new version makes it easier to add photos of locations to the service

The feature allows users to search for restaurants that work with one of the major online delivery services like GrubHub or EatStreet. Users will get the option to Place a new order using the icon listed in the details of the location.

The “Place a new order” icon takes users directly to the website of the delivery service so that they can place orders for food that they would like to receive.

In addition, users can add photos of locations to the service, and images can be taken directly within the Google Maps app or they can be updated from the phone’s camera roll.

Besides that, Google Maps now comes with the option to find plus codes for a certain location by simply dropping a pin on the map. The codes are identifiers for locations that don’t have a street address.

Earlier this month, Google Maps for Android was updated with a new shortcut that allowed users to view traffic data, without having to use the Driving Mode. This made it easier for users to check if there were any traffic jams to their destination, without actually having to set up a route.
