If you're using Google's Maps application on your iOS device, you should also know that the new Google Maps 4.11.0 for iOS release also comes with an Apple Watch app designed to provide you with simple to follow directions on your wrist.

The Google Maps for iOS application provides you with accurate maps in 220 different countries and territories around the globe and it can also be used for GPS navigation while walking, driving or biking.

Users that want a full-fledged map should stick to their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, since the newly released Apple Watch application keeps the displayed information to a bare minimum.

Google Maps for the Apple Watch can be used to rapidly navigate towards your home or your workplace by tapping on the two "Home" and "Work" icons prominently displayed in the app's interface.

Google Maps for Apple Watch does not come with automatically scrolling turn-by-turn directions

Furthermore, the Apple Watch Google Maps app also makes it possible to follow turn-by-turn directions if you're driving or walking to your destination. Unfortunately, unlike the Apple Maps app, Google Maps will not automatically scroll through each new step forcing you to do it manually.

According to the changelog published on the iOS App Store page, users will also be able to effortlessly compare estimated times of arrival for various routes when driving, walking, biking or when using the public transport system with the help of the Google Maps for iOS app.

Google Maps for iOS can now also be used to call businesses to get simple to follow directions directly from a list of places displayed on the map.

You can download the Google Maps for iOS app from the iOS App Store, and you can install it on any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch  running iOS 7.0 or later.
