Google has long been working on features to improve parking functionality for its users, and it seems that the tech giant has just started rolling out a new feature for its Maps application. Google introduced a tool for Maps to remember where you parked your car.

Google introduced the new feature to its Maps application for Android and iOS, to help you remember where you parked and provide some new features. In order to access the new feature on Android, you simply need to tap on the blue dot and access the “Save your parking” section to add the parking location to the map.

A label on the map will identify where the car is currently parked, and when you tap on the label, it opens the parking card with options to add information about the spot. You can add notes, as well as the amount of time left before the meter expires so you would get a reminder 15 minutes before it does.

The feature works in a similar manner on iOS

You can also save an image of the parking spot and even send the location to friends or family using Google Maps. The feature can be accessed in a similar way on iOS; after setting the parking location, you can tap on the label to open up the parking card and add information or view pictures of the parking area.

The new feature works together with the automatic parking detection tool that Google recently introduced in Maps for iOS. When the phone is connected to the car using USB audio or Bluetooth, the parking spot is automatically added to the map when you disconnect.

Recently, Google released a new tool for Maps on Android and iOS, one that would automatically translate local reviews in the device’s language. The translated review appears at the top, while the text in the native language is shown at the bottom.
