Back in May, during Google I/O, the company announced that it was working on a platform that would allow users to share apps with up to six members of their family. Over the past few months, information on the Google Play Family Library has kept popping up, and now it seems that the Mountain View-based giant has finally released the new goodie.

Google Play Family Library is official now, and users will be able to share applications with up to six members of their family. The feature helps users share purchases on Google Play, as all six family members share an account on the Play store.

Google Play Family Library allows users to share apps, games, movies, TV shows or books purchased in the Play Store. The applications can be shared across devices, for no additional sign-up fee. All purchases that were added to Family Library are available across Android devices, as well as on iOS or on the web.

Google Family Library will start rolling out in the next few days

In addition, family purchases and shares could be easily managed, which means that users can pick which apps they wish to share and which they want to keep in their personal library.

When users sign up, they can select a credit card to share as their family’s payment method, but the family members will always have the option to buy apps with their personal credit cards or gift cards. Users will also have the possibility of approving purchases made by other family members.

Family Library allows users to share music subscriptions with their family members by subscribing to Google Play Music family plan. The plan allows six family members to stream millions or songs for just $14.99 a month.

Google’s Family Library will be rolling out over the next few days in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
