It’s no secret that Google will be announcing two upcoming smartphones in just a few hours. Pixel and Pixel XL are said to go on sale in the US and Canada immediately after the unveiling. However, Google might make the two phones available in Europe as well.

Yesterday, Google filed a trademark application for the Pixel smartphones in Europe, according to The Trademark Ninja, via Android Headlines. The trademark application was filed at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The document is both in English and German, and the EUIPO is currently in the process of reviewing it. This might be just a formality and the Office won’t take long to approve the request, seeing how the application was filed just 24 hours before the unveiling event.

Google’s Munchen-based representatives from Grunecker Patent filed the application, and the listing reveals the official logo of the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Pixel and Pixel XL will run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box

Google’s upcoming smartphones were known as Nexus Sailfish and Marlin at first, but Google decided to rebrand them not long ago.

They will be manufactured in partnership with HTC, but it seems that the Taiwanese company won’t have its name or logo present on the phones. Pixel and Pixel XL won’t be exactly cheap, as rumors say prices are set to start at $649 for the 32GB variant of Pixel.

However, considering the software and hardware inside these two phones, it might all be worth it. Google’s upcoming devices are said to come with SD821 processors, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Aside from this, they might come with 12MP rear cameras and 8MP selfie snappers, and run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Nothing is certain until tonight’s release, though. During the event, Google is also expected to unveil the new Daydream VR headset, which might carry a price of $79.
