Google has just announced that its Docs application for Android devices has just received a major update that adds quite a lot of new features and improvements.

According to the search giant, the new feature will be rolling out to Google Docs users worldwide beginning today. Those who already have the application installed on their smartphones should check for the later update if they want to benefit from the newest features.

Speaking of which, the latest update brings the so-called Research tool, which allows users to search Google without leaving Docs. Once you find what you're looking for, you can add it to your document with just a few taps.

Furthermore, the update adds Voice typing. As the name suggests, the feature allows users to record their thoughts or even compose entire essays without having to touch their phones' keyboards.

In order to enable the new Voice typing feature, you will have to head over to Tools menu when using Docs in Chrome. Then, simply tap the mic button on the phone's keyboard and start talking.

Users can now “Explore in Sheets”

Google also confirmed that Voice typing is now available in more than 40 languages, but more might be added in the future.

With the latest version of Docs for Android, users will be able to tell what was added or deleted in the application much easier. You just need to tap on “See new changes” to see the latest changes in a document.

Google also announced they have launched Share to Classroom Chrome extension, which is meant to make it easier for teachers to share a website with the entire class at the same time, regardless of what kind of laptop students have.

You can now download Google Docs for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.1 and up.
