Google Chrome is among the best third-party web browsers on iOS and Google is constantly working on providing the app with updates and new features. It seems that Google is working on bringing a Safari-like Reading List feature that would allow users to save web pages for later.

Google Chrome for iOS will be receiving a new feature soon, one that would allow users to save articles into reading lists. Google recently pushed out a stable build of Chrome 57 to Mac, Windows and Linux users, which means that the mobile version will arrive soon, according to a report.

The new feature would be accessible from the menu in the upper-right corner, users simply need to tap on the three dots and get access to the reading list option. The app will also display a number of unread articles in the queue.

The application will have a separate section for the Reading List and feature various unread and read articles. Users will thus be able to distinguish between the articles that they’ve read and the ones that they plan to read, a feature that isn’t available in Apple’s Safari browser for iOS.

Google’s Chrome new feature is currently being tested in the Chrome Beta for iOS, and it should arrive soon. However, there’s the possibility that it might undergo slight changes before being made available on the stable version.

It’s worth mentioning that Chrome on desktops doesn’t offer the same Reading List feature, which means that users won’t be able to sync saved articles on mobile to desktop. Recently, Google launched Chrome beta browser for iOS with support for 3D Touch and Bluetooth keyboard shortcuts. Google also made Chrome for iOS open source after uploading it to its Chromium platform so it can receive new features and undergo tests before rolling out to the Chrome app.
