Google has just released a new version of Google Chrome for all supported platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Mac.

The search giant hasn’t yet published the full changelog for Google Chrome 74, but thanks to the beta builds that have been around for several weeks already, we already know pretty much everything about this update.

One of the most important changes in Chrome 74 is support for the dark mode in Windows 10. The previous version brought a dark theme for macOS, and beginning with today’s release, Chrome follows the system settings in Windows 10.

In other words, if you set Windows 10 to use the dark theme, Google Chrome switches to a black visual style as well, whereas a light mode in the operating system changes the settings in the browser to the default configuration.

Security fixes included as well

Chrome 74 also includes additional changes to block changes from detecting when you’re browsing in Incognito mode, as well as a series of improvements for the Picture-in-Picture mod, like keyboard media controls.

Google is expected to release the full changelog in the coming hours, but in the meantime, you can download the new installers using the links below.

As with every major release of Google Chrome, expect several security bugs to be resolved as well, and the search company will publish a full list, along with the bounties that it paid to researches who reported them, later today. Needless to say, the security patches themselves make Chrome 74 a recommended update for all users running the browser on the affected platforms.

If you don’t want to wait for the browser to be pushed through the built-in update system and get it right now, you can download Google Chrome for Windows, Linux, and macOS here.
