Google has just announced that it made major changes to its Google app for Android and iOS, as well as the desktop version of Google.com. With the new tappable features, users will be able to find information faster on various topics.

Google’s new tappable shortcuts are displayed right on the home screen and give quick access to useful information, like the weather forecast, restaurants, entertainment, and more. The Google app also includes dozens of other useful shortcuts for translating text quickly, finding nearby places, booking flights, hotels, converting currency, and more.

There are also shortcuts to games like tic-tac-toe, animal sounds and what not.  With the new feature, users no longer need to tap keywords in the search bar, as the Google Search will display information with a simple tap. Shortcuts to apps and tools are also available to Android users.

Tools for customizing search results

Google didn’t stop there, thoug, as it also introduced tools for users to get detailed information on team scores, recommended restaurants or movies showing in cinemas near their location. In addition, they can customize results as they please, so that only specific information is shown.

The new Search shortcuts will be displayed under the search bar in updated Google Search apps. Users will be able to access new shortcuts for important and upcoming events, while information is updated every time users tap on the bar, especially the weather forecast.

The new tappable shortcuts don’t necessarily seem like major changes at first glance, but they do imply a change in the way people search for information from their smartphones. The features will help Android users find info and content faster, while also allowing them to customize which shortcuts will appear on their screen.

Needless to say, Google is one of the most suitable companies to bring enhanced search features to consumers. The tech giant recently introduced cloud search features to G Suite business users, making it easier for people to find and work on documents that they’ve stored in the cloud.
