It’s a method that allows developers to attract more users to help with testing the applications. During Google I/O 2016, the company presented new features that go along with the latest Play Store version.
Google seems to be focused on giving a helping hand to developers and making it easier for regular users to join or leave beta testing applications. The update allows Play store to display open beta apps in search results and display a simple button for users to enroll (opt in).
It also brings new ways in which users and developers can communicate. Users no longer need to post an open review in order to send feedback, they can now directly message the developer.
The new Early Access feature provides facilities for promoting up-and-coming applications and thus supporting developers with increasing popularity of their apps. The section will display a list of open betas, but they will be handpicked to represent the most interesting applications available in Play Store.

Moreover, Google will implement a feature that allows users to see collections on the store for tasks that might require a combination of apps. This would make it easier to users to find the information they need, without having to search for apps.
They will be arranged into categories, based on specifications and use. Consequently, developers won’t need to tweak their apps in order to benefit from the functionality, as Google will handle the task of categorizing apps.
In addition, Google also announced a set of aggregator tools for developers. It released the pre-launch report of issues found when testing applications on Firebase Test Lab for Android. The report takes into consideration a wide range of devices.
In addition, Google launched two new apps for developers, the Play Console app and Playbook by Google Play. Play Console app allows developers to access app data like installs, uninstalls, crashes, ratings and reviews, while Playbook contains all sort of information for developers, like articles and videos.
