Google and YouTube are celebrating the International Women's Day this year in a very nice manner. While Google has created its usual doodle to mark the event, YouTube has launched a new social good campaign called #HerVoiceIsMyVoice where stories of inspirational women from around the world are shared.

The International Women's Day is being celebrated via a really nice Google doodle that tells a story. Unlike others in the past, this is a slideshow Doodle featuring a little girl whose grandmother tells her the best bedtime story - a tale of her favorite historical heroine. The girl's imagination then helps her visit 13 remarkable women in history.

The list includes suffragist and civil rights activist Ida Wells, Loftia El Nadi, Egypt's first female pilot, Frida Kahlo, Mexican painter and activist, Olga Skorokhodova, Soviet scientist and researcher in the field of deaf and blind communication, Sally Ride, American astronaut and the first woman in space, Ada Lovelace, English mathematician and first computer programmer.

"Although some of the women showcased in today’s Doodle aren't household names, each made a mark in her own way. They pursued a range of professions and passions and hailed from an array of backgrounds and countries. In fact, all of these women have been featured in individual Doodles in the past, but often only in their countries of origin. So today we're taking the opportunity to share their stories with everyone," reads Google's post about the doodle.

YouTube's awesome new campaign

#HerVoiceIsMyVoice is YouTube's chosen campaign that has the goal to "shine a brighter light on the incredible and strong women within the YouTube community," as put by Danielle Tiedt, Chief Marketing Officer at YouTube.

She adds that every day, around the world, women are sharing their stories, wisdom and inspiration. "These everyday and extraordinary moments are at the heart of YouTube," she claims.

So, today, people are invited to share a video of a woman whose voice speaks to them.
