Gmail continues to receive new features and improvements with each update released by Google. The latest update announced by the Big G brings the option to send and request money through the email client without having to leave the app.

There's one caveat, though, as Google has announced the new version of Gmail is now available for users in the United States only. The good news is if you're based in the U.S., then you will be able to use the new feature both on the web and Android.

According to Google, Gmail users in the U.S. can now “reliably and safely” send and request money, just like they share photos and files while on the move. The developers also claim that you'll be able to exchange money with people who don't have Gmail addresses.

The update adds a new option that allows you to choose whether you want to send or receive money. Simply tap on the attachment icon to find this new option.

Furthermore, Google's latest update enables recipients to receive or request money directly from the email without having to install a third-party payment application. Additionally, the recipients can send the money directly to your bank account if that's what you want.

Obviously, the new feature allowing users to send and request money via Gmail is available for free, so you won't have to pay any fees for these operations.

Assuming you live in the United States, you can now check the newest version of Gmail in the Google Play Store. The search giant says the feature is already available to all Android users, as well as on the web, so make sure you check it out.

Although just a small update, Google adds a very important feature to its Gmail app, one that will allow users to exchange money with a simple tap on the move.
