The team behind the GOG digital distribution is announcing that it is prepared for the launch of the new Windows 10 operating system on July 29 and that it is getting ready to deliver a solid amount of titles that are compatible with it.

In an official blog, the team explains that the transition to the new system will be seamless, thanks to a new Quality Assurance team that is testing video games in order to make sure that their features work correctly.

GOG states, "We're encountering very few problems and most of those are either resolvable on our end, or likely to get fixed as Windows 10 nears release. In fact, many games that had issues on operating systems newer than Windows XP once again won’t suffer any hiccups on Windows 10."

The company also makes it clear that some things might change before Windows 10 is officially launched, but it is optimistic that no major problems will appear.

Those games that need patches to run smoothly on it will get one on July 29 and gamers who have the Galaxy app will receive them automatically.

Windows 10 will introduce some improvements for gaming fans

GOG is allowing modern players to get access to classic titles that have been tweaked to run well on modern devices, with the package often delivering extra content associated with them.

Microsoft is positioning Windows 10 as the operating system that will show its commitment to the gaming world.

The company has recently announced that a rebuilt version of Minecraft will be offered in the official store.

The OS is also introducing the new DirectX 12 tech, which many believe will lead to big gains in terms of performance and quality on all platforms that use it.

Windows 10 will also have a closer link with the Xbox One, with gamers able to use a dedicated app to stream games from the console to the PC.

There are also plans to offer cross-platform play for some future titles.

Recently, Microsoft announced that it was renaming Xbox Music to Groove and Xbox Video to Movies & TV in order to make the services appealing to a wider audience.
