It's the beginning of the week so what better time to cheer up a bit than now? Well, you're in luck, because GoDaddy has teamed up with The Onion and released a new video ad campaign featuring "The Internet," the famous character from GoDaddy's Super Bowl commercial earlier this year.

The ad which landed on during the Super Bowl commercial led to the best-ever Sunday for attracting new customers in GoDaddy's history. This, of course, inspired them to come up with a new idea for a campaign featuring this likable character.

The eight short videos GoDaddy and The Onion came up with dive into The Internet's backstory in a satirical manner. In these videos, The Internet is being interviewed by Noelle, the host of a talkshow, where he chats about his new autobiography "My Life As the Internet."

At its core, the new campaign seeks to drive awareness for GoDaddy's new website building product GoCentral. Since each episode explores different characteristics we associate with the Internet, going from addiction to animal videos, to that blue and black/white and gold dress, to its hatred for spam.

Laugh and do business

"The success of our Super Bowl campaign reinforced our belief that we were onto a winner with our 'Internet' character," said GoDaddy Chief Marketing Officer Barb Rechterman. "The Internet universally changed how we live, work, shop, communicate, and entertain, and we explore that more in this new campaign, with a twist. We've always infused our marketing with a unique sense of humor, and partnering with Onion Labs means we get to show that off."

This is the first time GoDaddy has collaborated with a media brand's in-house agency on a campaign. The videos were produced by the Onion labs team with direction from GoDaddy. You can watch some of them below or go to GoDaddy's website to see them all.
