Today, November 29, 2016, the development team behind the open-source GNOME Builder IDE (Integrated Development Environment) software project announced the availability of version 3.22.3.

GNOME Builder 3.22.3 is the third maintenance update in the 3.22 stable series of the IDE for GNOME devs who want to build and design the most powerful and useful applications for the GNOME desktop environment. There are numerous improvements in this version, starting with support for building apps with LLVM Clang 3.9.

Clang's auto-completion snippet scoring and insertion now work as expected, and the big news is that you can now finally build and run Flatpak applications, including those distributed via Flatpak's channels. Moreover, GNOME Builder 3.22.3 integrates flatpak-builder using JSON manifests and adds SSL and SSH improvements via Flatpak builds.

Support for compiling C code outside of autotools projects was improved

Other notable changes implemented in GNOME Builder 3.22.3 include support for discovering standard files when compiling C code outside of autotools projects, better support for copying and pasting commands in the terminal, the ability for the editor to overwrite ";" characters, as well as a brand new Run Output panel.

Furthermore, TTY support is now available for the FreeBSD operating system when spawning processes, there are various improvements to the workbench CSS style, it's possible to store app-ids in buildconfig, Flatpak prebuild and postbuild output can now be viewed in the Build Output panel, and language defaults are now installed.

The built-in terminal now supports activating and highlighting of URLs, when necessary the IDE will fall back to the ptsname() function, LD_LIBRARY_PATH has been set by default for the Rust Language Server (RLS), you can again use the Enter key for auto-completion, and some annoying issues and bugs have been addressed.

Last but not least, the Spanish, German, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Kazakh, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and Serbian language translations have been updated. The developers recommend all users to update to GNOME Builder 3.22.3 as soon as possible, and you can download the source archive right now from our website.
