After lifting the 50MB limit size for received emails, Google has announced that its Gmail application has been updated once again with a couple of new features and improvements.

Apparently, support for Exchange accounts in Gmail has been improved further with the addition of Exchange tasks support. Starting today, a new version of Gmail for Android will allow the application to synchronize all tasks with Exchange.

Last year we added support for Exchange accounts in Gmail app for Android so you can use one familiar mail app for both work and personal business. We also added 'find a time' in Google Calendar to suggest meeting times that work with everyone’s schedule,” explains Google's product manager Janice Wong in a blog post.

Furthermore, Gmail users will now be able to create tasks, edit their date or priority, as well as flag an email as a to-do for later response.

Especially useful for those who have long lists of tasks

According to Google, Android users won't have to learn to use the application after the update since there won't be any changes to the interface, which will remain both intuitive and familiar. The latest update is meant to make Gmail users' lives easier thanks to the unified tasks list added.

Gmail app for Android is enterprise-ready, so your IT department can securely deploy it. Gmail app also works with managed configurations so you can skip any complicated setup steps,” concluded Wong.

The latest version of Gmail for Android has already been pushed to the Google Play Store, so you can now give the app a try and let it help you get more done, especially if you have a long list of tasks.

Unfortunately, there are no details about a similar update for the iOS version of Gmail. It's unclear whether or not Google will bring support for Exchange tasks to iPhone, but stay tuned for more on this one.
