The glasses make the world look twisted, bizarre

LSD - official name (6aR,9R)-N,N-diethyl-7-methyl-4,6,6a,7,8,9-hexahydroindolo-[4,3-fg]quinoline-9-carboxamide for those of you who happen to be passionate about chemistry - is a psychedelic drug.

Synthesized by chemists in the 1930s and outlawed in the 1960s, it alters thinking processes, triggers all sorts of hallucinations and changes people's perception of time. Users have even reported intense spiritual experiences while under its influence.

Now, it might be that toying with thinking processes and perception of time is something that requires a background in chemistry and brain physiology. Inducing hallucinations, however, is a straightforward affair. Or so says Bence Agoston of Hungary.

The artist claims to have developed 3D-printed sunglasses that make the world look so twisted and bizarre that they basically recreate an LSD experience, albeit a perfectly legal and safe one.

The glasses promise an escape from reality

Bence Agoston's wacky sunglasses, called MOOD, come with 6 pairs of lenses, each pair displaying a unique pattern of fragmentation and designed to filter out red, green or blue light.

The world changes color and shape depending on which lenses the wearer decides to try out. What's more, different pairs of lenses can be overlaid to alter reality even further.

“Because each color filters the incoming lights differently, and the patterns can overlap each other or leave blank fields, the new view is completely random and twisted,” the artist said in an interview, as cited by Oddity Central.

“The ideal situation for use is during travel, when people listen to music, just looking out the window and watching the ever-changing sights, in perfect harmony with the music,” he added.

Whenever not in the mood for an LSD trip, be it only a simulated one, the wearer can simply remove the patterned lenses and settle for ordinary ones designed to protect their eyes from sunlight but that do not in the slightest distort reality.
