14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese company Gionee does not seem to be present at IFA 2015 trade fair, but that doesn't prevent it from unveiling new products.
Even though it won't get the same attention as other companies showcasing their new smartphones at IFA 2015, Gionee is a well-known brand in China and that's all the company needs.
The latest addition to Gionee's portfolio of Android smartphones is the S5.1 Pro. The new mid-range handset has been officially unveiled in China, but we suspect the smartphone will be made available in other Asian countries as well.
According to a new report, Gionee S5.1 Pro will be available for purchase in China in the coming weeks for around $300 outright.
Gionee S5.1 Pro distinguishes itself from other mid-range Android smartphones thanks to its stylish design. The handset is only 5.35mm thin and weighs around 129g (battery included). It features metal frames and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass design.
Octa-core CPU and 4G LTE support
Speaking of which, the S5.1 Pro sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
Gionee S5.1 Pro packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
It offers both dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, along with many other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
On the back, Gionee's mid-range smartphone packs a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, 5 element lens and video recording, while in the front there is an 8-megapixel camera with 81 degree viewing angle for great selfies.
Last but not least, Gionee S5.1 Pro runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Amigo 3.0 on top, and is powered by a 2,400 mAh battery.
