Chinese handset maker Gionee is about to debut another mid-range Android smartphone, though we're not sure what the name of the device will be.

According to a new report, Gionee GN9007 has just popped up at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission. This confirms the smartphone exists and it will be officially unveiled very soon, it does not confirm its market name.

Still, judging by the phone's specs sheet that leaked at Geekbench, this might be a smaller version of the Gionee Elife S7, which has already been released by the Chinese company a while ago.

The Elife S7 mini is likely to be launched in China, initially, but it will probably be released in other countries as well. We also know that the smartphone will be available in both black and white color options.

It comes with Lollipop and octa-core CPU

When it comes to specs, Gionee Elife S7 mini is a mid-range smartphone that comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. The phone measures 144.9 × 69.8 × 6mm and weighs around 125g (battery included).

Hardware-wise, the Elife S7 mini is equipped with a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM.

There are 16GB of storage inside Gionee's mid-range smartphone, but users can further expand internal memory up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

It's also worth mentioning the Elife S7 mini sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that support HD (720p) resolution. No word on Corning Gorilla Glass coating though.

On the back, the device packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

It might not come with dual-SIM support, but the handset offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
