During the press tour for Disney’s “Tomorrowland,” which turned out to not be the hit the studio thought it would be, actor George Clooney often discussed his new wife Amal Clooney (formerly Alamuddin), how they were settling into married life, making it work with their busy schedules and whether they’d talked about starting a family.

George is 54 years old, while Amal is 37. If they want to have a biological child, time is not exactly their best ally, but George insisted that they were in no rush. He even said that they had not discussed this yet because having children wasn’t a priority.

He changed his mind, Star magazine claims.

George and Amal want a child badly, but are having problems

In a report citing the usual “unnamed” sources and insiders, the tab writes that George and Amal have long decided they want to have children and are already trying for it.

That isn’t a new report; in fact, since they tied the knot, speculation on when they would announce a pregnancy has surfaced in the media regularly.

What is new, though, is Star’s claim that they’re having some fertility issues. George’s age is acting against their desire to start a family, as also is Amal’s busy schedule and recent weight loss.

“There’s Mrs. Clooney’s high-powered career as a lawyer and activist, which keeps her super busy and on the move. Besides her own biological clock ticking away, Amal’s barely 100-pound [45.3 lg] body weight is also a major cause for concern since reportedly a woman underweight has a tough time conceiving,” the report says.

Again, this is all pure speculation.

A baby by the end of the year

In July, a new round of pregnancy reports began making the rounds, with one in particular saying that the newlyweds already had their life planned out.

They wanted a baby by the end of the year, and hopefully a family by next year. They also planned to move into a new home, which they started redecorating shortly after the wedding and which would allow them privacy from the glare of the media.

The house is in the countryside in the UK and they were thinking it would be in top shape by Christmas, for them to move in then.

The report also mentioned IVF as a possibility they had looked into, in case they couldn’t get pregnant the old-fashioned way.
