Microsoft and developer The Coalition held a special panel at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday focusing on their upcoming Gears of War Ultimate edition, confirming that it would get a special Xbox One bundle and showcasing a behind-the-scenes video that concentrated on the overhauled cutscenes of the upcoming title.

The Gears of War series has been around for many years now, and it came to define a big portion of the Xbox 360's lifecycle. And while developer The Coalition is working hard on Gears 4, the next iteration in the series, it's also going to release next month a special Gears of War Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One, which is a remastered version of the original title.

Already quite a few details were shared about the new title at E3 2015 last month, and yesterday Microsoft and The Coalition also brought it to the San Diego Comic-Con.

Gears of War Ultimate gets an Xbox One bundle and a new video

At the presentation, the two companies first confirmed that a special Gears of War Ultimate Edition Xbox One bundle was now available for pre-order and would launch on August 25, right alongside the actual game.

The package includes a digital copy of the title, an Xbox One console with a 500GB hard drive, an Xbox One controller with the new 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a 14-day free Xbox Live Gold trial membership. The actual game also comes with a Superstar Cole multiplayer skin and access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta that's going to take place in 2016.

New video shows how the cutscenes are overhauled

At the same time, the two companies also presented a special video that goes behind the scenes and focuses on how The Coalition is overhauling the cutscenes in the new game. Instead of just using the higher quality models, the studio is adding new touches, bonus sequences, and portrays more depth.

A spoiler-filled example is used, so those who didn't play Gears of War 1 might want to shield their eyes.
