A lot of information about Gears of War 4 has been revealed recently, and the developers at The Coalition seem determined to make sure that they extract all the performance that the Xbox One is capable of to offer a 1080p resolution across all modes.

Rod Fergusson, the producer working on the title, tells Game Informer that his team is aiming for 30 frames per second in the single-player campaign and 60 FPS for multiplayer.

The game maker also answers plenty of other questions about Gears of War 4 in a five-minute long video and even manages to include a hint that a version for Windows 10 PCs might be a possibility although it will probably not arrive at the same time as the one for the Xbox One.

The Coalition and Microsoft want to make the new game a showcase for the capabilities of the home console, in the same way that the original installment was the best way to show what the Xbox 360 was capable of.

Gears of War 4 will have a beta stage during the coming months, which will be open to those who have played the Ultimate collection, and full launch will take place in the fall although a clear date has not been mentioned yet.

JD Fenix will be the star of the new story

The son of Marcus Fenix will be joined by Kait Diaz and Delmont Walker in the narrative as they seek to find out what happened to people who are disappearing and they discover a new threat called the Swarm.

The three main characters are all living outside of the sanctioned GOG cities, which are designed to keep the population safe from the new climate of Sera, which has been reshaped by the events of the previous titles in the series.

When it comes to gameplay, Gears of War 4 aims to recapture the tension that drove the first game that featured Marcus Fenix while also tweaking the way the cover system works to add more drama to the battles.

Enemies will also pose a bigger threat, adapting their moves to the way the player acts, and the weather patterns can also have a big effect on engagements, especially when the big windflares take place.

Gears of War 4 will offer two-player cooperative action locally, and more gamers can be involved if the action takes place online.
