Samsung’s Galaxy S8 smartphone is one of the most anticipated devices to be announced in the first half of this year and the phone is also expected to bring some design changes. That’s why leaks from case makers and 3D renders of the new device are very exciting.

Samsung Display division has just posted three videos detailing their new technology. While the videos are quite stunning and exciting to watch, they also show a smartphone that’s very similar to the Galaxy S8.

The device showed in the video has very thin side bezels and lacks a home button. The Galaxy S8 is the only Galaxy S phone that won’t have this design element, but that’s not a guarantee that it’s featured in the video.

Samsung’s home button provides enhanced functionality and it’s a recognizable element on any Samsung phone. The removal of the home button means that Samsung will place the fingerprint scanner on the back of the new device or it could be located underneath the display, we’re not sure at this point.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are said to both have dual-edge screens

The phones featured in the video have flat screens, which is why we think that they’re not Galaxy S8 units. Rumors have stated that both handsets will come with a dual-edge design, but there have been some reports saying that Samsung might actually provide a flat variant, although it’s not likely. The Plus variant of the Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a dual-camera setup on the back.

It’s worth mentioning that the videos are in Korean and from what we can gather, the company is presenting its latest AMOLED display technology, which will surely be featured on the new phone.

It’s improbable for Samsung to have given the green light to its Display division to post three videos of its highly anticipated flagship. It would be an unlikely slip from a company that urged its employees to keep details about the new phone a secret. The phone in the videos could be a generic Samsung prototype that resembles the Galaxy S8 in some respects, but it could also be a very early prototype of the next flagship.
