Samsung is known to be working on an Android 7.0 Nougat update for its top smartphones, as many of them have already been spotted on benchmarking sites running the latest version of Android. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, for instance, was recently spotted on GFXBench running Android 7.0 Nougat.

The listing reveals the Samsung SM-G891A smartphone (which is the codename for the Galaxy S7 Active) running Android 7.0 Nougat, according to SamMobile. At this point, there’s no telling as to when Samsung will start rolling out the update for the Galaxy S7 Active, but it shouldn’t be long since the company is in the final stages of testing the Nougat update.

The Galaxy S7 Active isn’t the only phone to be spotted on benchmarking sites, as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 5 also surfaced running Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge might receive the OTA update this month

Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge users had the opportunity to join the Galaxy Beta program and receive updates to Nougat beta to test on their devices. These updates contained the latest improvements from Google for the Android Nougat version, but also integrated Samsung applications.

Samsung used the program to test out Nougat on its Galaxy S7 series and fix any issues, so that the final version wouldn’t include any bugs. It is said that the phone maker has completed the Galaxy Beta program, after releasing five Nougat beta updates to users. Each of the updates brought bug fixes, as well as some changes to users, like the exclusion of Samsung Notes from the list of pre-installed apps.

The South Korean company might push out the 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones this month. The Galaxy S7 Active could receive the update shortly after. The locked versions of the Galaxy S7 phones might receive the update at a later date, depending on when carriers complete the testing phase.
