Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7 just a few days ago, and while the smartphone did cause quite a hype with its powerful specs and features, some were left disappointed because it didn't come with the rumored 6GB of RAM.

Indeed, initial rumors had gotten us all excited that the Note 7 could feature 6GB of RAM, as compared to the 4GB on the Galaxy S7. Samsung would have surely scored big if it had incorporated such a RAM capacity on the Note 7, but one has to wonder if it would have been really needed and the compromise on the battery would have been worth it.

A higher RAM capacity could mean lower battery life in some cases, but Android applications have become leaner, anyway, so they wouldn't use too many phone resources. It is possible that Samsung thought that 6GB of RAM would have been a bit too much on the Note 7, but recent information suggests that the company could actually release such a variant for those who want even more powerful phones.

A Note 7 variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage could be launched in China

A dual-SIM Galaxy Note 7 variant with 6GB of RAM has just appeared on Geekbench and at TENAA, according to SamMobile. The version for the Chinese market seems to have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage out of the box. Such a phone wouldn't be surprising, considering that a 128GB of storage variant of the Note 5 was released in South Korea last year.

In addition, 6GB of RAM would certainly make the Note 7 an even more attractive smartphone. OnePlus 3 debuted recently, and its 6GB of RAM was one of its main selling points. However, the OnePlus 3 did have some issues with RAM management, which were fixed with a later OxygenOS update.

Even if this Note 7 variant appeared at two different sources, there's still a chance that the smartphone won't see the light of day, since there's currently no definite confirmation of such a model being released. We can only wait and hope that it will.
