The accident seems to have happened in China

We already knew that the Galaxy Note 7 is a bomb, but we didn’t realize that it is literally dangerous, or at least that's what one user seems to claim. Photos have surfaced from China, via Baidu, showing a Galaxy Note 7 unit which apparently exploded during charging.

The incident apparently occurred while the smartphone was charging with a USB Type-C converter. The only text that accompanies the images says that the unit was produced for South Korea, but don’t specify the conditions in which the smartphone suffered such a damage.

Indeed, the pictures show that the device is utterly unusable with clear marks of internal and external burning and with its display basically destroyed. It’s safe to say that the phone turned into charcoal, with only the rear camera and home button to not have suffered visible damages.

The conditions in which the incident occurred are unknown

It would have been interesting to know if the unit’s owner had used a bundled microUSB to USB Type-C converter. Owners of Galaxy Note 7 should use the bundled Samsung wall charger to charge the device, just to be on the safe side. Users should also keep their devices far away from water and anything that could cause it heat up while charging.

Hopefully more details on the matter will emerge soon, considering that it’s quite uncommon to see such incidents occurring with flagship devices released by one of the top smartphone manufacturer in many countries.

Samsung has recently stated that it was having supply issues with the Galaxy Note 7 and that the release date in certain countries has been delayed. In addition, the company mentioned that the supply issue is just temporary, although some analysts suggest that it could affect its sales if it’s not solved in a timely manner.

Nevertheless, the Galaxy Note 7 is a very attractive smartphone with a 5.7-inch dual edge Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, 4GB of RAM and an iris scanner, among other things.
