San Diego Comic-Con 2015 starts this weekend and “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is believed to be a big presence. Should Warner Bros. decide to premiere a new trailer or include a panel with the stars, it will officially kick off the promo trail for the first film in the Justice League franchise.

While anticipation for this is building, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and director Zack Snyder have already been promoting it, mainly through a very extensive interview with Entertainment Weekly. Gal Gadot, who will be playing Wonder Woman, is doing her part by discussing the role with Fashion magazine, the August 2015 issue.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me

This will be the first time that the famous superheroine is appearing on the big screen, and if you recall, Gadot came under serious fire for landing the part because, unlike the character she’s playing, she’s very slender and frail looking.

Perhaps a more negative reaction than for Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman was for Gadot’s casting as Wonder Woman, with many fans lashing out against the studio for the offer, and at Gadot for accepting it.

She was even accused of having an eating disorder, but she’s grown a thicker skin since then. She tells Fashion that being in the military (she’s from Israel, where military service for women is mandatory) helped her toughen up and not really take to heart when people jump to conclusions because of the way she looks.

Wonder Woman, a dream come true

She is convinced she will do justice to Wonder Woman - of whom, of course, she has only great things to say.

“She is the ultimate symbol of strength. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d grow up to be in a movie playing someone who influenced as many women as she has,” she says. As for her method of acting, she explains, “I always think about how I would behave if I were in their shoes.”

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be out in March 2016. Wonder Woman is believed to get her standalone movie later down the road, if reception of Gadot’s performance is positive.
