Paolo Bacchilega has announced earlier today, March 30, that the gThumb 3.3 image viewer application has been updated for the newly released GNOME 3.16 desktop environment and GTK+ 3.16 toolkit. This is the fourth maintenance version of gThumb 3.3 and introduces a number of improvements, bugfixes, and updated translations over the previous stable release.

According to the release notes, gThumb 3.3.4 adds a “Fit to height” button when viewing images, updates the drag and drop support for move files by default, adds a symbolic application icon, makes the ‘trash files’ and ‘delete files’ functions asynchronous, and it now displays a confirmation dialog before moving files via drag and drop.

In addition to the above, gThumb 3.3.4 now uses the default GTK+ style for the message dialogs and the header-bar for request dialogs. The keyboard shortcut for adjusting the contrast is now ‘a’ and the keyboard shortcut for the new “Fit to height” operation is ‘h.’

gThumb is now fully compatible with the GTK+ 3.16 toolkit

In gThumb 3.3.4, the comment pane style is now compatible with GTK+ 3.16, and the extensions activation/deactivation have been fixed in the Preferences dialog. The App Menu is now shown on the header bar automatically if the shell does not display it.

Among the bugs squashed in gThumb 3.3.4, we can mention an issue with web albums, a build failure on x32 (kilobyte), as well as an issue with the overview in the image viewer, which quickly appears and disappears under certain conditions.

Last but not least, the Bosnian, Czech, Hungarian, Lietuvių, Polish, Swedish, Greek, and Hebrew language translations have been updated. The Czech, Greek, and Swedish manual translations have been updated as well. Download gThumb 3.3.4 right now from Softpedia.
