These are the models getting the upgrade to Windows 10

Rumor has it that Microsoft’s getting ready to launch Windows 10 Mobile, and a list that got published yesterday reportedly revealed the devices that are supposed to receive the new operating system as part of the first wave (because, yes, a staged release for Windows 10 Mobile still seems to be planned).

As we told you yesterday, some important models were missing from the list, including Lumia 520, which was the best-selling Windows Phone device and continues to remain the most popular around the world.

A source at Microsoft hasn’t confirmed that this list is indeed accurate and has clearly stated that anything can change overnight if a specific problem is found on a given Windows Phone model, but has also pointed us to a list of Lumia models that are eligible for the upgrade.

All Windows Phone devices getting the upgrade

Microsoft clearly stated that all Windows Phone Lumia devices would get the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade, so devices such as the Lumia 520 might only miss the first wave but be included in the second. This information isn't necessarily new, but it's further confirmation that the plan to release Windows 10 to all Windows Phone devices hasn't changed.

The list of Lumia phones getting the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile (and which you can find in the box at the end of the article) includes absolutely all models launched with Windows Phone, so there’s no doubt that Microsoft still intends to release the new operating system to every single WP user.

What phones will be included in which wave still remains to be seen, but if the information we told you about yesterday is 100 percent accurate, then flagships such as Lumia 930 and 1520 will be among the first to get the upgrade.

Furthermore, Lumia 830, together with the 640 and 640 XL, is also expected to be included in the first wave, but once again, there’s still no confirmation of this, and we’ll only know for sure when Microsoft publishes an official announcement in this regard.
