FUJIFILM Corporation announced launched today a new digital mirrorless camera, the X-H1, which we believe it will set a new standard for mirrorless cameras.

The Fujifilm X-H1 if full of innovations, starting with the 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) to achieve up to 5.5 stops of shake reduction, Fujifilm's brand new ETERNA film simulation feature for excellent video reproduction, and last but not least a durable and robust body with a new 1.28-inch sub-LCD display on top.

Fujifilm says that the X-H1 is currently the highest performance mirrorless digital camera in the X Series, and it's here to provide professional photographers around the globe with the most superior image quality an APS-C digital camera can offer, thanks to Fujifilm's proprietary color reproduction technologies.

"The X-H1, with a newly-designed robust and durable body, incorporates a range of extremely useful features that support shooting in various scenarios demanded by professional photographers and videographers," says Fujifilm. "The new camera and lens combinations will provide outstanding image production and will be ideal for shooting a moving subject in sports photography."

Technical specifications of Fujifilm X-H1

In addition to the 5-axis/5.5 stops in-body image stabilization, which is compatible with all of Fujifilm's XF and XC lenses, as well as the new ETERNA film simulation feature for videographers, Fujifilm X-H1 sports an APS-C size X-Trans CMOS III sensor with 24.30 MP and without a low-pass filter, and the X-Processor Pro high-speed image processing engine used in Fujifilm's X-T2 and X-Pro2 cameras.

The camera's body uses a 25 percent thicker magnesium alloy than the Fujifilm X-T2 and it's capable of operating at low temperatures of -10°C/14°F. This makes Fujifilm X-H1's body as compact and lightweight as possible while offering great resistance to shocks and scratches. Fujifilm added a large-grip design to X-H1 for increased stability and reliability during shooting, and a new AF-ON button.

A 3-inch, 3-direction tilt rear LCD monitor can be found in the X-H1, but the small 1.28-inch sub-LCD on the top of the camera, which was borrowed from Fujifilm's GFX 50S medium format camera will give photographers all the information they need. Also, X-H1 features a high-precision and high-magnification EVF (electronic viewfinder) with a 0.75 magnification ratio.

Fujifilm X-H1 also features a focus lever to help photographers quickly and precisely select the desired focus point. Talking about focus points, the camera comes with improved AF algorithms and new flicker reduction modes that are imperative for indoor sports photography. For videographers, there's a 4K video recording mode, a 400% dynamic range setting and 200 Mbps high bit rate recording.

Fujifilm X-H1 will be available for sale on March 1, 2018, in the United States and will have a price tag of $1,800 USD for the body or $2,200 USD for the body and the exclusive VPB-XH1 vertical power boost grip. In addition, photographers will be able to buy the EC-XH-W wide-eye cup, which is designed to greatly reduce light interference. Full specifications can be found in the press announcement.
