A brand new update for Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's popular multiplayer online battle arena experience, has just been released worldwide. The patch brings a brand new character, in the form of Rexxar, as well as a few other changes, such as a nerf to Kael'Thas and some bug fixes.

Heroes of the Storm launched as a final experience on PC and Mac back in June, and since then, Blizzard has released a wide array of updates, not to mention new characters, maps, and other improvements to the multiplayer game.

A fresh patch brings Rexxar and a few other changes

Now, a fresh update has just been released by Blizzard across all territories, according to the official website. By far the biggest addition in the patch is a brand new playable character, in the form of Rexxar, the infamous Warcraft hunter.

The new hero already got a gameplay spotlight video over the weekend and he's now available in the actual game. You can admire his introduction video below, which pokes fun at his hunter role as well as his past in the Hearthstone video game.

The patch also concludes the Eternal Conflict Treasure Goblin hunt, meaning the small critters will no longer spawn during the beginning of a match.

At the same time, the newly confirmed Hero League party size restrictions, as well as the Silence penalty are also included in the patch. In case you forgot, you can play with just one other friend in a Hero League match. No longer can you get two or more friends to join. What's more, those who get reported for abusive chat behavior will be given a silence penalty that prevents them from sending chat messages for a certain period of time.

The only balance change in the new patch deals with Kael'Thas, as his Chaining Bomb talent for the Living Bomb ability now applies the effect to the three closest enemies, instead of everyone in the vicinity.

Bug fixes are also included, rectifying the display bugs dealing with unit status and health bars. Abathur's Toxic Nests will also no longer provide larger than intended areas of vision.
