The Blender Foundation, the developer of Blender, an integrated 3D creation software suite, has just announced that a new version of the suite, 2.75, has been released and is now available for download.

The developers of Blender have been making huge improvements to the application with each new update, but it looks like they've outdone themselves this time. Even if this is a very complex piece of software, it feels like there's no end to the number of new features that are either being implemented or refined in each release. If you're using Blender in a professional manner, you're certainly going to get excited by what the devs have added in 2.75.

Usually, these kinds of releases are branded as maintenance, and they land mostly with fixes, but it is not the case here. Blender 2.75 comes with Stereo 3D, Cycles Rendering, new modeling tools, improvements for the user interface, a better game engine, enhanced animations, new add-ons, and a ton of various fixes.

Blender 2.75 is a must

It's also worth remembering that Blender is available on the Steam platform as well. It had a lot of success there, and this is the perfect tool for people who also want to get involved in building games with this awesome tool.

According to the changelog, support for AMD GPUs has been added for Cycles, some high-quality options have been added for the viewport depth of field, a new Corrective Smooth modifier has been added to Modelling, the Decimate modifier was improved significantly, 3D viewport painting now supports symmetry, Placeholders are now able to replace missing frames of image sequences, and hundreds of small bug fixes and features were integrated.

You can download the Blender 2.75 3D Suite from Softpedia, but please keep in mind that this is the source code and you will need to compile it. The other option is to wait it to land in repositories or get it from Steam.
