Hitting the framerate goal is crucial to a racing game

Forza Motorsport 6 developer Turn 10 Studios emphasizes just how important delivering a racing game with a 60fps framerate is for its team, going as far as to say that it's pursuing the technical goal with religious passion through every aspect of the title.

The Forza Motorsport series has been around for quite some time now and main developer Turn 10 Studios has made quite a big deal about the visual performances achieved by its previous Forza Motorsport 5 game on the Xbox One, thanks to its 1080p resolution and 60fps framerate.

After giving Playground Games a chance to release Forza Horizon 2 last year, Turn 10 is now gearing up for Forza Motorsport 6, which once again promises to take things further in terms of the overall racing experience.

60fps is a major goal for Forza 6 and Turn 10

While talking with DualShockers during Gamescom 2015, Turn 10 boss Dan Greenawalt emphasizes the importance of the 60fps framerate. He and his team are trying to ensure that the performance figure is rock solid through every aspect of the game, from its visuals, to textures, or even the cars.

"This is a main part of building a game like this in particular: you can’t accidentally go sixty. You can’t start at thirty and go to sixty. You can’t reduce to sixty. You have to be sixty. So as you develop the game, you have to be sixty all the time. You have to build your cars to be sixty. You have to build every piece of code to be sixty. And that almost becomes a religious, zealous mission for the team, to deliver an experience that never drops below, and we took that very seriously," he explains.

Forza Motorsport 6 promises to deliver an intense racing experience next month, when it launches exclusively for the Xbox One, so expect to hear a bit more about it in the weeks to come.
