The development for foobar2000 audio player has reached a new beta stage, for version 1.2.5. Unlike the previous revision, the second beta adds new options to the program.

Starting this build, the application features handling of attached pictures in the case of WAV and AIFF audio formats. Also new is the possibility to transfer the attached image to the output result in Converter module.

The previous test revision integrated a couple of fixes touching on the conversion component. They refer to writing of WAV with odd byte counts or of files that could not be tagged by Foobar2000.

Improvements available in the new release include skipping hiding files and subfolders when loading items from directories, support for tagging AIFF format and adding authenticode signatures to the application’s binaries.

foobar2000 is available for download from this link; during installation you can choose to make it portable.
