foobar2000 1.1.15 has been released, introducing new capabilities and a short list of fixes and workarounds for some issues.

The new build adds the possibility to look up CD details at each CD rip, by adding basic MusicBrainz tagging capability to the audio CD ripper.

Repairs available refer to the incompatibility with Matroska files processed with mkvclean. Furthermore, rating tags for ID3v2 are now compatible with Windows Media Player and the converter module can work with the new Opus encoder; the converter also benefits from performance tweaks for multi-core encoding.

Workarounds in the current revision touch on incompatibility problems, mostly with Windows 8.

First on the list is shell integration with the soon to be launched OS from Microsoft, next is a compromise solution for NSIS installer incompatibility with Windows 8 address space layout randomization.

“Drag and drop” incompatibility with Windows explorer read-only optical media has also been addressed.
