After introducing tagging support for WAV files in the previous version, now foobar2000 extends its functionality by adding out-of-the-box support for ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) files.

This is actually the only new thing introduced in foobar2000 v1.1.10 beta 1. Prior to this version the audio player would appeal to a third-party decoder for rendering Apple’s M4A format and in some cases compatibility issues would occur.

By integrating the freshly released Apple decoder library, foobar2000 has gained inherent capability to play Apple’s format, the third party decoder becoming obsolete.

Bug fixing is also on the list of modifications in the new version of the application. Repairs refer to clearing issues caused by WAV handling, which was introduced in version 1.1.9 of the audio player.
