Microsoft has already announced that Windows 10 and universal apps would receive a major overhaul as part of Fluent Design System in the Fall Creators Update, and it looks like work advances at a good pace on this new visual update.

Today, the company updated Groove Music to version 10.17042.1411.0, bringing Fluent Design tweaks to all users, no matter if they are part of the Windows Insider program or not. Furthermore, the same visual overhaul is available on Windows 10 Mobile as well, so everybody is getting a taste of what's to come in the Fall Creators Update with this recent update.

There's more to come in Fluent Design

As you can see in the photo gallery below, the UI of Groove Music is substantially improved with these small tweaks, mostly thanks to the blur effect that has been added to the sidebar and to the top of each window. This visual effect lets you peek at what's behind the window, offering a modern look instead of the typical solid color.

What's important to note is that the solid color is restored when the window is out of focus, and this is mostly a behavior that Microsoft implemented for performance reasons, as it's a well-known fact that visual overhauls could hamper system performance, especially on old hardware.

The Fluent Design System will bring some other tweaks to Windows 10, including new animations and effects that are likely to see daylight in the coming Insider builds. Work on Fluent Design advances fast, but users in the production ring (stable builds) are likely to get the full package only when the Fall Creators Update launches in September.

Users who want to try out the most recent Groove Music version can fire up the Store and head over to Downloads and updates > Check for updates to install it.
