Not so long ago, OnePlus unveiled the heavily rumored “2016 flagship killer” which made a debut into the wild as the OnePlus 2.

While most of the specs of the device have been revealed previously, today the Chinese company confirms everything we’ve been hearing for the past few months.

One of the aspects that was shrouded in a veil of mystery until now was the OnePlus 2’s camera capacity. Well, now we can tell you that the OnePlus 2 packs a 13MP photo snapper that features large 1.3micron pixel sensors, OIS (optical image stabilization), laser autofocus and video recording. Up in front, we have a secondary 5MP selfie camera.

The original OnePlus features a Sony IMX214 image sensor, another 13MP chip, but it’s also relatively small, 1.1-micro pixel patch. Comparatively, the OmniVision sensor on the OnePlus 2 allows for bigger, 1.3-micron pixels.

This is an important advantage, since larger pixels allow for better performance in low-light environments. Furthermore, the OnePlus 2 adopts laser focus for faster focusing in dim light.

But all we’ve told you about the phone’s camera is just theory and we think you’d probably like to see some actual results to get a truly clear idea of the snapper’s capacity.

OnePlus has already shared a few sample images showcasing us what the camera on the new flagship can do. However, while you browse the gallery, you’d better keep in mind that these images have been carefully picked in order to be as impressive as possible.

If we’re to take these images as a standard, the camera is capable of delivering an impressive level of detail and also gorgeous color dynamics. Photography in obscure environments also seems to be promising.

For those of you who missed the scoop on the OnePlus 2, this seems the right place to remind you that the phone will arrive with a 5.5-inch LCD HD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080p resolution.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor which works in concert with either 3GB of RAM or 4GB of RAM, as well as 16GB or 64GB of storage.

The new handset will ship out with OxygenOS 2.0 out of the box, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop but also includes some Android M features, as the company teased a few days ago.
