Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady confirms that it's sent the first interim patch for the game's PC version into testing and that it hopes to release it in the following weeks. Until then, an official changelog confirms a suite of enhancements to the game's performance, stability, and mechanics.

Batman: Arkham Knight launched at the end of June across PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms worldwide. Unfortunately for computer owners, their version of the game was crippled by many different performance issues as well as actual glitches, crashes, and other such problems.

The backlash was so severe that publisher Warner Bros. decided to suspend its sale while developer Rocksteady worked on fixing the problems.

The first interim patch arrives in the following weeks

Now, the first major update for Batman: Arkham Knight on PC is nearing release, as Rocksteady confirms on the official Steam forums that the patch is entering the testing procedures. The release is expected to happen in the following weeks, once the testing department makes sure that it doesn't end up causing more harm than good.

"The teams have been working hard to address the issues with the PC version of the game. We are happy to confirm that we are now putting the first interim patch into testing. If all goes well, we expect to issue the patch in the next few weeks. We’ll be sure to report back in the next two weeks on how the testing is coming along," the studio explains.

A changelog confirms many improvements

Until then, an actual changelog has also been shared by the studio, highlighting the many different improvements that should appear in the game once the patch launches. From fewer framerate problems to better performance by ensuring that it accurately uses the system's RAM and VRAM, the update seems to make good on the promise of turning Arkham Knight into a decent PC game.

More graphics options, including the ability to change the framerate cap, the motion blur, texture resolutions, and other such things are also included in the update.
