The development team at EA Sports is ready to show off a new Team of the Week package for the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 16, allowing gamers to get access to some impressive players, including Paul Pogba from Juventus and Luka Modric from Real Madrid.

All of them have been selected based on their performance during the weekend action in major European championships, and they can all be used to improve the performance of a player-created first eleven with their new skills or their improved Chemistry.

The attack line for the Team of the Week is made up of Lewandowski, who provided solid goals for Bayern over the weekend, and Gignac, who is doing solid work in France.

When it comes to midfield, which might be the most important department of play in FIFA 16, gamers can get access to Pogba, Modric, Insigne, Alex Sandro and El Shaarawy, a group that likes to play mostly on the left side of the field.

For the defensive line for the Ultimate Team linked package EA Sports has selected Balenziaga, Lahm and Mario Gaspar.

The goalkeeper of the Team of the Week is Trapp.

The package also features the normal seven substitutes that each real world football team has access to, allowing gamers to either shore up a position where they lack in quality or to try and obtain the resources required to get access to a pricier superstar.

Since the launch of FIFA 16, the Team of the Week has been also offering an extra five players, also selected based on their performance, to give gamers even more options in the Ultimate Team, especially when playing the new semi-random Draft experience.

FIFA 17 might no longer feature Lionel Messi on the cover

The winter transfer window for the big championships has now closed, with the real world featuring some impressive spending by Chinese clubs and some surprising moves away from the famous clubs of the world.

EA Sports will have to update the database of FIFA 16 to reflect all these changes as quickly as possible to make sure that the community works with the same players as their real world counterparts.

This is also a good occasion for the studio to update the stats associated with some superstars to better reflect their performance on the pitch.

EA Sports has also suggested that it might be preparing another title update for FIFA 16 to tweak some of the core mechanics and to fix some problems, but it has not offered any concrete details about possible changes and launch window.

Most resources at the company are clearly focused on the creation of the next installment in the simulation series, which will arrive in the fall for the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC.

Rumors are saying that for the first time in years Lionel Messi might no longer be the global cover athlete because of a dispute over the contract between him and EA Sports and that a search is currently underway to find a suitable replacement, which might come from the Premier League.
