The global cover for FIFA 16 is finally available for fans to enjoy. As usual, it stars FC Barcelona's Argentinian striker Lionel Messi. This will be the regular cover in territories where EA isn't adding another soccer player alongside Messi.

FIFA 16 was confirmed to the world earlier this year with the rather surprising reveal that it would include 10 Women National soccer teams. This is a first for football simulators like FIFA and it's definitely impressed a lot of people.

After having shared a lot of gameplay details in the last few weeks, starting at E3 2015 and continuing afterwards, EA organized a cover vote for fans to decide what players are to join Lionel Messi on the FIFA 16 cover.

The global base cover of FIFA 16 is finally available

Until the votes are tallied, EA has revealed on the official Facebook page the actual global cover for FIFA 16.

As you can see above, Lionel Messi, the FC Barcelona and Argentina striker, once again graces the cover of the upcoming game, alongside a blurred-out version of his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.

This global cover will be available in territories where EA isn't partnering with another player to feature him on the cover alongside the FC Barcelona star. In other parts, such as the US, UK, Italy, Germany, and so on, the publisher will get an additional local player to appear on the cover.

Expect to see the regional covers for FIFA 16 in the very near future.

Different versions come with various features

While the game will have the same set of features across most platforms, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users will be the only ones to receive the Legends mode.

You can also pre-order the game right now, in Standard or Deluxe retail versions, or a Super Deluxe edition from digital services like Steam, PS Store, or Xbox Store.

FIFA 16 launches on September 22, in North America, and September 24, in Europe.
