All the ratings are temporary and might change before launch

The development team at EA Sports has not yet offered any official look at the ratings for players in FIFA 16, but it seems that, at least for the moment, Lionel Messi is considered to be a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo, with a rating of 94 to 93.

The information comes from an Italian site that talks about a recent event in Madrid during which information about the teams for both Barcelona and Real Madrid was offered.

The source is a little sketchy, and that means fans of the series should probably take them with a pinch of salt.

Even if the data is real, it is very probable that EA Sports will continue to evaluate players and to revise it before the FIFA 16 experience is launched.

For Barcelona, the ratings are: Raul Bravo - 84, Dani Alves - 83, Pigue - 87, Mascherano - 83, Jordi Alba - 82, Ivan Rakitic - 83, Sergio Busquets - 86, Andres Iniesta - 90, Lionel Messi - 94, Neymar - 88, Xavi - 87, and Ter Stegen - 82.

For Real Madrid, gamers are rated at: Cassilas - 84, Carvajal - 80, Sergio Ramos - 87, Pepe - 83, Marcelo - 83, Tony Kroos - 87, Luka Modric - 88, Gareth Bale - 87, James Rodriguez - 87, Cristiano Ronaldo - 93, Benzema - 86, Isco - 84, Lucas Silva - 75, Arbeloa - 79, Jese - 75, Varane -82, Coentrao - 79, and Keylor Navas - 78.

FIFA 16 is designed to improve all core simulation elements

EA Sports has announced that defensive minded players will be able to use their entire team to stop attacks from opponents and will have more options for tackles.

In midfield, there are more ways to deliver passes accurately to other players and more ways to be creative.

Attackers in FIFA 16 will be better able to place shots on goal and can also use no touch dribbling.

New animations and improved graphics also mean that gamers will get better representations of players and the stadiums where they play.

EA Sports has not talked about the tweaks it will make to the Ultimate Team mode, other than to suggest that it will be more secure and more balanced.

FIFA 16 will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on September 24.

Update: Initially the headline mentioned FIFA 15, it's been changed to reflect that it's actually about FIFA 16
