The support for AMD hardware is very important

Feral Interactive is a studio that specialized in porting games for the Linux and Mac OS X platforms, and they have already launched a number of titles. The developers are now making an extra effort to make their games work better on AMD hardware.

If you're a Linux user, you already know that AMD is not exactly the best platform to have. The hardware itself is not bad, but the driver support is all over the place. Some users say they have no issues, and others can get it to work properly. To top it all off, some games have a problem running on AMD hardware, and a few titles didn't even start with AMD video cards.

There are two solutions to this problem. Either AMD starts releasing better drivers for its hardware, which is not likely to happen anytime soon (sometime they don't even provide a simple changelog for a driver), or the studios invest more money into testing their games on PCs powered by AMD. From the looks of it, Feral Interactive chose the second options, and they got a few AMD systems which they plan to stress.

Feral Interactive is already doing great work

The studio has already released some amazing titles for the Linux platform, and none of them had any real pro problems, despite being very complex. The latest one is Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition and it works on Linux almost flawlessly. They do have other titles on the pipeline, like Company of Heroes 2.

The fact that Feral Interactive specifically mentioned AMD indicates two things. One is that AMD needs more work than other hardware, and the second is that Feral Interactive understands the fact that there are a lot of users out there with this kind hardware and they need to give them the same attention.
