Ubisoft has brought forth a few new details about the recently confirmed Far Cry Primal, including the fact that the PC version is going to appear a few weeks after the PS4 and Xbox One editions. The French company also explains how the idea to set the action in the Stone Age fits into the franchise.

Far Cry Primal became official yesterday when Ubisoft revealed two different videos about the new first-person survival game, along with a few screenshots and quite a few details about the novel premise powering the interactive experience.

Far Cry Primal arrives later on PC

At that time, Ubisoft mentioned that the game is set to launch in February across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Now, as part of an official statement, the French company sheds a bit more light on the whole release schedule, confirming that only the PS4 and Xbox One versions are going to roll out worldwide on February 23, 2016.

PC users, however, will have to wait a few more weeks, as their version of the first-person adventure experience is going to debut in March, without a concrete date just yet. No reasoning was provided, but given this trend is also present with this year's Assassin's Creed Syndicate, it's likely that Ubisoft wants to avoid any technical problems on the trickier platform and is offering its PC team more time to tinker with it.

The Stone Age fits the series, according to Ubisoft

In the same statement, Ubisoft Creative Director Jean-Christophe Guyot also mentions that the Stone Age period is perfect for the Far Cry series, as previous games have focused a lot on survival in harsh conditions, and the things our ancestors went through definitely fit this mold.

"The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game," he says. "Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself."

Far Cry Primal will not only focus on hunting giant prehistoric beasts but also on conflicts between early human tribes and other such things. Expect to learn more about the game in the following months, as we get closer to its February/March debut.
