The new title will not have problems on launch

Fallout 4 might be the biggest announcement to come out of E3 2015 and with launch set to take place this fall some question whether the development team at Bethesda has the ability to make sure that the title does not have any major problems when it launches.

Todd Howard, the director of the open world experience, tells Game Informer that his company has learned a lot of major lessons after its work on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and all of them are being applied to the coming title.

The game creator says that it is impossible to test a game completely because the structure and the huge number of players create situations that the studio cannot have predicted, even after its own extensive Quality Assurance process.

Todd Howard explains that he aims to focus on the player data in order to make sure that even big crashes do not affect progress in significant ways.

He states, "saved game is the number one thing. If the game crashes, that’s bad, but it is nowhere near as bad as someone’s saved game being hosed. That’s our scenario that we will do anything and everything to avoid. We made a lot of progress given how Skyrim went, but we did it during Skyrim. This just builds on that."

Fallout 4 will have a new set of extensive mechanics

Assurances from Todd Howard are a good way to build trust with the community, but the potential for problems is relatively high because the coming open world game adds at least two major new features.

Gamers will be able to gather materials from the world to rebuild houses and create their own settlements, which can ultimately trade with one another and need to be protected from enemy raiders.

Bethesda is also introducing a wide range of crafting options, with the 50 core weapons in the title getting more than 700 variations.

Players are also able to tweak the capabilities of their own set of Power Armor.

Fallout 4 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft and those who get the title on the last platform will get a free version of the previous title in the series that is entirely backwards compatible.
