Great news for Messenger users, but not so good for Microsoft’s team behind Skype application, as Facebook has just announced it is now rolling out highly anticipated Group Calling feature for mobile devices.

For the time being, Group Calling is available for Android and iOS platforms, and it’s unclear whether or not Facebook will bring it to other operating systems.

Messenger addicts will be pleased to know that, with the latest version of the application, they will be able to initiate a group call from their smartphones. To enable the new feature, simply tap on the phone icon from any group conversations. Once you initiate the group call, you will be able to manage individual participants on the next screen.

According to developers, the latest update brings a phone icon in the group conversations so that you know the new feature is available to you. If it doesn’t show yet, you should wait up to 24 hours since the update is rolled out in waves.

Also, Messenger users should be able to see their call history and missed calls in one place. No other changes are included in new update, but that should be enough to make you want to try it out.

Get your share of group calling with Messenger and provide feedback

Facebook wants people to try the new Group Calling feature now available for Messenger application and provide their feedback: “Give it a try, and as always, let us know how we can make it even better for you!”

If you don’t have the application yet, you can now download Facebook Messenger for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.

For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all phones running iOS 7.0 or later.
